This site is a way for you to share your school
improvement successes with others and describe the work
leading up to that success. We invite you to submit your
practices for consideration using the steps
outlined here. Promising Practices are used
for: • Examples and inspiration for fellow leaders • Identification of potential GLISI teaching leaders • Partial criteria for GLISI recognition • Topic sources for future trainings • GLISI’s own evaluation processes • Creating a community of learning
The Promising Practice must be: • tested
using action research
(Plan-Do-Check-Act
cycle); • proven by two years of quantitative
data demonstrating a positive difference in student
achievement (less than two years of data is an Emerging Practice); •
strengthened by qualitative data demonstrating a positive difference in working conditions,
student learning, staff or student morale, or other
conditions of practice; • submitted through the PowerPoint template
(link below); and • sponsored by the appropriate
leader from your district prior to GLISI review via a
signed Promising Practice District Sponsor form (link
below).
How to submit your Promising Practice 1. Download the
Promising Practice PowerPoint template
here. For less than two years of data, use the
Emerging Practice PowerPoint
template. 2. Follow the directions to complete the
presentation. 3. Submit the completed PowerPoint presentation, along with the
Promising Practice District Sponsor form,
to your appropriate district sponsor for review and
signed approval. 4. Mail your signed Promising Practice District
Sponsor form to GLISI (be sure to keep a copy for
yourself). Mail to: GLISI; 760 Spring Street, Room 217;
Atlanta, GA 30308; attention: Becky Shaver. 5. Submit your completed presentation to your IIC. 6. Your IIC
will review your Promising Practice submission for
quality and accuracy and will forward it to Becky Shaver
(becky.shaver@galeaders.org). 7. You will be notified by
Becky about
the status of your submission. |
