GLISI initiatives are innovative solutions that have been designed to defy traditional ways of working with and preparing education leaders. These innovative initiatives often have the result of influencing positive change in policies, practices and legislation, as well as providing immediate support and impact for the education leaders who participate and “co-develop” with us.

Power of 100 is a new multi-year development pilot experience for 100 school leaders and their supervisors which uses an iterative design process. Based on the elements refined in the GLISI Rising Stars Leader Induction program, the powerful model is being tested and improved for school principals as a process for certificate renewal and proficiency development focused on proving targeted indicators of school and student performance. By using open contribution, collective creation and rapid iteration the process will be continually revised and improved through a multi-year cycle. The process focuses on talent management to ensure leadership “bench strength” and leverages the power of learning communities to increase student achievement. Each participant completes a Learning & Performance Project™ that demonstrates their proficiency and contributes to the knowledge base of educational leaders across the state and nation. May lead to the granting of a “P” endorsement (provider status pending).
GLISI sponsors the School Administration Manager or SAM project is dedicated to providing the necessary data that would allow the role of the principal to change from the managerial leader to the instructional leader allowing more time to be spent on improving teaching and learning in their school and district. SAMs is not just a position, but a change process that revolves around the principal uses daily time/data to influence their daily activities. The goal of SAMs is to allow the principal to use data to refocus their time toward more instructional leadership activities. If interested in more information about that SAMs project, click here.
