GLISI’s Rising Stars - Collaboratives

The Collaboratives

GLISI’s Rising Stars model is currently being implemented in six regions in Georgia. Two additional regions are in the planning stages. In each region, the Rising Stars Leadership Collaborative™ Steering Committee consists of the RESA Director, the Rising Stars Collaborative™ Director, often the RESA leadership or school improvement coordinator, participating superintendents or their designees and the GLISI Rising Stars Program Director. This steering committee makes the major decisions about the Collaborative including whether the program will serve aspiring leaders or assistant principals in induction. The 2007 Rising Stars Collaboratives™ represent 49 districts and include:

	Oconee Collaborative - September 2006-August 2007; 21 new leaders projected
	Griffin Collaborative - September 2006-August 2007; 16 new leaders projected
	Middle Georgia II Collaborative - September 2006-August 2007; 30 new leaders projected
	Pioneer II Collaborative - September 2006-August 2007; 15 new leaders projected
	Griffin II Collaborative - January 2007-December 2007
	Okefenokee II Collaborative - February 2007-January 2008
	Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) Collaborative - January 2007-December 2007
	North Georgia I Collaborative
	Northeast Georgia I Collaborative
	Pioneer III Collaborative

The 2006 Rising Stars Collaboratives™ included 17 districts and trained a total of 75 new school leaders:

	Pioneer (pilot) - January 2004-December 2005: nine new leaders
	Middle Georgia I - September 2005-May 2006; 30 new leaders
	Atlanta Public Schools - August 2005-June 2006; 20 new leaders
	Okefenokee I - February 2006-January 2007; 16 new leaders
